How much are your daycare costs where you live? Just comparing... Here it is about $750 per month per child.

Ours is $221/week for a center. It goes down to $175/week once they're school-aged.

Ours is $230 per week. We send her closer to home vs. closer to my work, b/c the daycares closer to Boston are $315-$365 per week up here.

I could do a lot with $12K per year. :-(

Ours does not fluctuate in price depending on whether LO goes or not. It's a flat rate, and if she stays home, we still have to pay. The price does go down once they are school-aged, and we can also get a discount if we have >1 child enrolled.

This? Where do you live if you don't mind saying? I am in SW Ontario and cost of living is relatively inexpensive here. He will be going to home day care when he starts and it will be $30 a day, but it is reallly cheap here just from comparing to my friends that live near TO, K-W etc. Also, if I sent him to a centre, I think it'd be closer to $40+ a day.

There are a lot of factors that can swing it - location, center vs in-home, city, reputation/demand, what is included, etc...

In Atlanta (office district), we send LO to a center through a church, so its slightly less than the high-end schools nearby, but even her infant room has a structured day so its not just free-play time. Its $1180/mo for infants, and drops slightly as she gets older. It includes breakfast, lunch & snacks - I just need to bring diapers, wipes & bottles.

I am in TO and we are going to send Parker to a home day care for $50/day. Centres here start at $60/day and go up to $91.38/day. I have seen some home care listed for as low as $30/day, but not near me.

$750/month at a great center in suburban NJ. We bring food, diaps & wipes. She goes 4 days/week and spends one with the ILs.

We pay $157 per week. It is usually $175 per week but we get a discount because my husband works for the local school district. It is very structured. The teacher has a daily lesson plan for each child. I provide diapers, wipes, and bottles.
