Our sonographer asked if we wanted to know at our NT scan. She said she was 65% sure it was a girl at 12 weeks 1 day. She was right!! I think it depends on the person doing the scan and the PP is right, it is VERY early to tell and boys can "hide" well at that stage. Good luck with your NT!!
It's very early to be able to tell as both boys and girls have a bump at that time. However, my OB gave us a 75% guess at ours (around 13 weeks) and he was right at both 16 and 20 weeks. Even if they are willing to guess, I wouldn't put any stock in it until your anatomy scan.
My next appointment will put us at 16 weeks. I'm REALLY hoping my Dr does a u/s to see if they can find out. If not, we're going to be going to an outside source to get one.

An experienced sonographer may give you a guess based on angle of the nub. We've had the same sonographer for the last two pregnancies and she was correct both times.

We had ours at 12 weeks, and I asked if she could guess for me, she did and said she believes boy but don't hold her to it. We ended up with the CVS procedure and found out it is a boy at 13 weeks.
No! They told us boy at our NT scan and girl at our a/s! At the NT scan they always tell you that it's a guess, but it's hard not to believe in whatever they tell you. Good luck!

It depends on the equipment (ultrasound, not baby's) I guess, and the mother's weight. I was told my one has 99% accuracy, especially if the mother is slim.
But the equipment they used at the Fetal Assessment Centre was waaaaay better than the equipment used at my gynae.
It does depend on the equipment. We were at a great hospital with state of the art machines... so she gave us a guess for a boy at 12 weeks. She did say not to go out and paint the nursery blue just yet, but she did think it was a boy. She even wrote on the ultrasound picture "boy ???????" ... 6 weeks later it was confirmed that we indeed were having a boy. Can't wait to meet him
WaitingOnTwoPinkLines: I'm having my NT on wednesday, that would make me 13w4d. My, you're rather observant! I wrote this post last week.
OK. I looked at the date, & thought you meant NEXT week... I guess because I would have just said "Wednesday". No worries though, just didn't want you to miss the window.
To answer your original question, our NT tech didn't even look for sex. It's very subjective at this stage.
Re: Can NT ultrasound determine the baby's gender?
Due 12.12.12
This exactly. Except our u/s tech at 12.5 wk told us 95% girl, but we shall see in a couple weeks! I am still not convinced 100%.

If you are 13w3d now, you can't have an NT next week... they have to be done before 13w6d.
Thanks everyone!
