My husband is nesting... does that mean I'll go into labor soon?

haha OK, not really. We have already done everything we possibly could to prepare for baby, including cleaned the whole house (I mostly did nothing towards this except make lists for my husband who completed everything haha... he is amazing). Anyway, as of this morning, he was sharing me these extravagant plans to move around all the furniture and basically rearrange the whole first floor of our house. First he framed it that we would do this when we need to replace our couches (which isn't going to be for several years, mind you lol). The conversation then took a turn towards we didn't HAVE to wait until the couches needed to be replaced, he could still do it with our "old" couches (they are 1.5 years old) and THEN it took a turn towards the measuring tape haha.

This isn't just rearranging a room - his idea is to switch our dining room with our living room. Both rooms are the same exact size, but we have more wall space in the dining room and more options for furniture placement, etc. I felt like I had to hold him back from starting anything and remind him that I was due 8 days ago and while I appreciate his enthusiasm (lol), today probably is NOT the best day for him to be moving all our heavy furniture on his own. Thankfully, he agreed!

Talk about nesting!!

  • Well I think its safe to say that you will be having a baby in the next 6 days. Weather she agrees or not. Sending labor dust your way, and hoping that your first labor goes as easy as my first one did. With that one I had hardly any sign of labor and woke up to a flood. So she could defiantly surprise you.

And I wish my husband even knew the definition of nesting. You are very lucky to have a husband that will actually do the things on the list.

I am!! He is the best. In fact, he probably would have done the cleaning on his own if I hadn't made the list. He is pretty amazing :-) Not to brag haha. Thanks for the labor dust!! How are you feeling since your super speedy delivery of baby #2?!

I started feeling back to normal yesterday, I don't think I would survive any longer having to just lay around. I don't know if your trying things to get your labor moving, but I went to the mall and got a pedicure, back massage, and walked around. Someone told me to try it and the next morning I woke up in labor.

Glad to hear you are feeling back to normal! I have been walking a lot (though today I just vegged out and relaxed around the house). We spent over 4 hours walking around our town yesterday because there was a fair on the green, down the street, and it was exhausting, but nice to be out for so long and on my feet (since everyone says walking can help to kick-start labor). So far, nothing, though. I had a pedicure last weekend!
