Incision still leaking some fluid at 5+ weeks?

Just wondering if it's normal for there to still be some slight fluid coming from the incision? Last time my incision was all closed up and dry at 2 weeks out...

It's hardly any and it's pretty clear (hint of yellow and a little blood) coming from the one slightly open area. The skin around it isn't red/inflamed.

Other than cleaning it and putting Ploysporin on it, is there anything else I can do to promote healing?

  • I'd call your doc, if I were you. It's not normal for the incision to be open at all that long after the procedure.

  • I agree with PP, get it checked with your Dr.  Anything coming from your incision at this point is not normal.

  • Ask your dr. for prescription powder (like baby powder). It's AWESOME, and helps heal things so fast. I don't know why they don't give it to all c-section mamas.

  • Yikes!  I'd call the Dr.!  Anything ooozing and wet warrants a call this far out.  Hope it's nothing!
