I have 3 days left until my due date, but I feel like I could still go another month. I have BH but I haven't had any real contractions. How long will they let you go before they say you have to be induced ?

    This is really a question you need to ask your doctor, because it can varry significantly depending on your doctor and your own health history.

    In general though, I don't think that many (if any) will let you go past 42 weeks these days, because any longer and the risks to baby and mom go up.

    It does depend on your OB. Mine won't let me go past 41 weeks because a patient lost a baby years ago waiting to 42 weeks. As the placenta ages it's not as efficient at nourishing the baby. Your practitioner should tell you how long they'll go before inducing.

    I'm similar to you - due on Tuesday, and don't think he's coming anytime soon.  I haven't really felt BH at all, either, though...  I asked my OB a few weeks ago, and 41 weeks is as long as he'll let me go, so I have an end in sight.  If baby isn't here by my appointment at the end of this week, then he'll schedule an induction.

    My dr. won't allow anyone to go over 41 weeks. I have an appointment on Monday (40w2d) and they will try stripping membranes and schedule an induction then.

    Typically, my doc won't let you go 10 days past your due date.

    Due to complications from my last pregnancy, my doc & OB don't want me to go past my due date.

    I'm due on Tuesday (the 5th).  No signs of ANYTHING yet---this waiting is EXCRUCIATING!  My doctor said if I don't go into labor naturally by 41 weeks (6/12), they'll induce me.
