Well my water just broke....

We were on our way to the Capital Grille for my bday dinner (which was 6/1) and I wanted to stop at work to grab a file I needed to work from home tomorrow. So we were on the 3rd fl of my building and I stopped to use ladies room, peed, got up to wash hands and it started. Scrambled back to toilet and yelled for MH to help. What a mess!! Got back to my car, called OB who said to head home and call when contractions are 5-1-1 or head to hospital by 8, whatever comes first. So now i sit on the toilet leaking away while my H packs his bag and continues to ask me if I want a coffee!

Whats funny is I always said I thought my due date was 6/4 but my OB never listened and it looks like I was close after all.

Should I eat now so I have something in my stomach before contractions start? I ate a bowl of cereal around 10 am and nothing since.

I personally would eat if it were me because I am always sick and starving by the time they let me eat

Congrats! Def eat now. When I had ds I made the mistake of not eating when I was hungry. When I got to the hospital all I was allowed to have was ice chips....miserable!

Yay for you! I keep waiting for this to happen..

I would eat, but nothing too heavy incase you get sick while in labor.

EAT!, my water broke with my 1st DS and it was 24 hours before he made his appearance, if my water breaks this time I am taking a shower and eating before I head in to the hospital. Especially if you're not having contractions right now......

Good luck and EAT! Once you get to the hospital they wont let you have anything until after the baby is born and you will be starving. I would stick to mild food incase it comes up later tonight!

Woo hoo! Yay for you. Yes, definitely eat something before you go. They don't call it labor for nothing and you'll need something to keep you going.

EAT NOW! I ate a bowl of cereal around 4 the day I went into labor (on a Sunday) and didn't have real food again until (Tuesday). I went in thinking I would have a vaginally delivery and ended up having a c-section. Besides it's time to eat.

GL!! I am SO jealous!! I agree you should absolutely eat. I would have made DH take me to the Capital Grille and then the hospital LOL!

I would definitely eat, you don't know how long it will be before you can eat again and you will need lots of energy for labor. Good luck!

ETA: Send your DH to pick up the food you should have been eating right now from Cap Grille...that place is fantastic!

I ate a sandwich on my way to the hospital after my water broke and am so glad I did- labour is totally exhausting and I wouldn't have had another chance to eat until the next morning.
