So my little (or not so little lol) 18mo old is 35pounds and currently use the mei tai but i feel like it doesn't give enough support - anything out there you recommend? by the way - i am expecting and am about 20wks preg. so anything i can wear while and post pregnancy would be GREAT
TIA!
Re: Any wraps for 35lbs and up?
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
I'm pregnant & wearing my 30 lb toddler in a Kinderpack. Love it.
My favorite wrap for the 25+ lbs stage is Geckos Antigua. It's HTF now though, but they pop up on TBW FSOT sometimes. I think some of the other Geckos are very supportive too. Thick Green Wool Fish is really awesome too, but a little much for summer. Natty hemp is nice (I have it in a shorty), and Anthracite Hemp Indio is thin but very supportive. I have AHI in a size 6, I'm not sure I'd like it in single layer carries but it's awesome for double layer.
Heavy toddler worthy wraps to name a few - any of the: Lana, Storch (any of the Leos or any of the Stripes), Didymos 50/50 Linens (Robert, Rosalinda, Marigold), Didymos Geckos Mauvin, Elleville Jade or a Elleville Zara (this one probably only for multilayer wraps), Petrol Hemp Indio.
Currently I am primarily just doing a Ruck tied under the bum with DD who is 33 lbs in our Didymos Robert and it's pretty comfy for quite a way, however all of these are wraps that have been recommended to me by experienced wrappers when I have asked this exact same question on thebabywearer.
