Mara Kate has arrived :))

It's a little late but my LO arrived on May 20th. Mara Kate Isabella (double first name) was 7 pounds 5 ounces and 20.5 inches long. She was due on 5/24. I started contractions at 7am and finally went to the hospital at 12:30pm. I was already 8 cm and I was pushing within 2 hours. She was born at 2:54 pm. The whole experience was quick and surreal. She is a blessing.

This is my 2nd child and my DH 1st. My other child is a 13yo so it's been a while for me. I forgot how demanding newborns are! And I have a fussy baby on my hands! I'm BF and it is very draining. Luckily Mara Kate sleeps pretty good at night (the majority of the time) so that helps.

Congratulations and make sure you find some support the BFing. You're right it is very draining. I love her name and glad you had a quick delivery. WOW to getting to 8 cm at home.

I almost forgot how demanding newborns are too! It's been 5+ years since I have done this. It's also my first time BF'ing so I am also finding how time consuming it is when they need to eat so frequently. Congrats on your baby girl!
