Math Nerd alert: credible due date statistics

Just happened across this awesome survey. It has stats and charts for percentages of women who give birth on/before/after their due date,

It actually dispelled a couple of the myths I had heard, like that 1st time moms are more likely to go past their due date, or that babies are more likely to be born during a full moon, etc.

My OB told me at my last appt, that statistically mom's of babies that are quite big don't often go into labor on their own past a certain point. As if their bodies know it wouldn't work out anyway. I found that tidbit interesting too.

While they are statistics, I don't know if I'd call an internet survey credible. There are good studies about when induction is most effective in maintaining the health of the mother and child on the Cochrane Database.

I was kinda hoping the full moon thing was true since there's a full moon tomorrow & I'm overdue.
