Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Anyone have just the stroller frame for a carseat?

similar to the one below?  If so, how do you like it and how long can you use it?  Is it just a couple months or longer?  I'm trying to decide if I should get this or the travel system stroller.

  • You can use it for as long as you use your infant seat.  Loves of people LOVE the snap and go.  Travel system strollers are very heavy and bulky.  So, these take up a lot less space and are much lighter.

  • Definitely get the snap and go and not a travel system. We used ours for about 7 months. We also have the travel system stroller and I wish we didn't buy it. We ended up buying a nicer umbrella stroller as well and don't use the bulky stroller at all since I always used the snap and go and then the umbrella stroller. The travel system doesn't fit in my trunk. If I could go back I probably would've bought the city mini with a car seat adapter and snap and go then I would've never needed the extra umbrella stroller.

  • I never used a snap and go just the travel system. Seemed more practical to me and I never found mine to be too bulky or heavy.

  • I have the citi mini stroller with an adaptor and we use that all the time. LOVE, love the Snap n go(that you linked). LO is almost 11 mos. and we use it constantly. It is great for shopping, moves easy and takes up less space. We use the citi mini for regular walks around the city, beach, etc. I have seen snap n go's at consignment shops/events. I got mine for $15 that way.

  • I had the snap n' go, but I thought it was a waste. I just had to buy another stroller later, which would  have come with the travel system.

  • I have a Snap 'N Go and a bigger jogging stroller. The Snap n Go was  great for trips to the grocery store or mall. But if the ground was anything but perfectly even and level, it bounced all over the place.  I used mine to take walks on paved trails, and it was definitely a bit rickety for that task....hence the jogging stroller.

  • We have the Snap N Go and are still using it, but DD has just about outgrown her car seat, so soon we'll no longer be able to use it.  I found it did the trick just fine and had no problems with it.  We also got a jogging stroller, so use that more now, but the Snap N Go worked great for us.

  • The snap n go is always in my trunk. I use it multiple times a week. DD is still in her infant carseat, so we've had over a year of use of the snap n go.

I really only use the bulky travel system stroller if we're going somewhere with a lot of walking, like the zoo or something.

  • Oh, get it used. Check out a kids consignment store in your area. They will have tons of them. It's not worth it to get it new, since there's no fabric or anything.

  • If I had to do it over again I would definitely get a snap-n-go for the stroller and then get a good lightweight umbrella stroller like the Chicco Liteway.  I only used the carseat on the travel system for about 4-5 months (until DD had good head control) then we just used her stroller for outings.  I would get one used though.

  • Get it!!  The Snap n Go has been awesome, I am really sad to have to give it up soon when E outgrows the infant carseat.  Its so light, easy to fold, perfect for the mall and errands (has a huge basket underneath) so I just keep it in my trunk.  We bought that, and also the Baby Trend Expedition jogging stroller & infant carseat duo.  The jogging stroller is a beast, heavy & bulky, but perfect for walks in the neighborhood and to the park (way smoother than the SnG), or for walking to get coffee or the grocery store.  Plus her carseat fit on it (like a travel system) for those first several months when she was too little to sit in the jogger by herself.  I thought the setup I had was the best.  Note, I would not recommend actually jogging with the Expedition though.

I second all the advice about buying the SnG frame used.

  • I used the snap n go ocassionally as long as he was in the infant seat (about 4 months).  Was totally worth it to me.  I also had a travel system stroller, and I hate that thing, have never used it, totally regret buying it.

I used the sng until 4 months, then just carried/carry him in the Ergo.  I use the Bob if we're going for a long walk to somewhere where I won't want to carry him the whole time, and when I go for a run...but have never wanted/used/needed my travel system stroller.  Totally regret it.
