At 36 weeks, I'm finally getting around to some nesting. It's not so much an urge or instinct right now as it's an intellectual realization that it's about time I do some of this stuff. It helps that I'm due at the end of June, so I'm seeing where all you ladies who are ahead of me are with things. That, combined with a trip to L&D and being told I will not likely be allowed to go past 39 weeks due to high blood pressure has finally provided the incentive to get going.
Also, I'm finally recovered enough from a bad cold that I have the energy to do stuff and my Amazon completion discount finally came.
So, I've organized the baby clothes and I'm washing those.
I've ordered needed big items from Amazon with the discount, which means we'll finally have the car seat mid-week to put in the car.
I'm hoping to start setting some things aside to get going on a hospital bag this afternoon. With the baby laundry done, I can pick a newborn and a 0-3 outfit to bring the baby home in.
I'm also finally getting caught up with some of the housework. Things are nowhere near where I'd like them to be, but I'm less behind.
Anyone else nesting out of necessity? What else should I be doing while I actually have the energy and motivation to do stuff?
Re: Finally "nesting"
~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone).
~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain).
~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40! Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).
I did the vast majority of nursery prep/shopping/baby laundry/house prep etc. in the last 2 weeks, I just could not get motivated before that. If you get your nursery in order, your shopping finished and your hospital bag packed, you are in good shape for LO's arrival.
I'm about 99% done at this point...and now I'm just waiting...waiting...lol.
I'm 36 weeks today - and plan on starting on Monday (as I'm off work and my other kidlets are in daycare).
I have literally done nothing.............so there is alot to do, find or buy if I need it! I really do hope this baby doesn't decide to come early at all!
