Where does baby sleep?

Hi ladies,

My LO still sleeps in the bassinet beside me. When are you moving your LO to their own room if you haven't already?  I feel like my LO is getting a little long for her bassinet, but I'm not sure I'm ready for her to be down the hall quite yet. :)

Re: Where does baby sleep?

  • During the day, she sleeps in an Ergo or wherever I sneak her onto once she's asleep.... Like the couch, bassinet, bed, etc. At night we bed share. I'm planning on transitioning her to the crib around 6 months, once we start sleep training. I don't want her all the way down the hall yet either, plus I don't want to have to go that far for her night time feeding :)

  • DD still sleeps in her bassinet beside me.  The bassinet we have is in the PNP and only goes to 15 pounds, so I guess we will move her when she gets close to 15 pounds (which will be soon I think :( )

During the day she already naps in her crib, so I am hoping it won't be too difficult of a move.

  • DS sleeps in the RNP beside me.  We'll probably move him towards the end of the summer since I go back to work in the fall.  I am not ready to move him yet, even though his room is right across the hall.

Our little guy had his own room, we slept in there on a full size bed while hubby was on FMLA with me

.. soon after he went back someone tried breaking into the apts here including ours.. luckily hubby was home than night.. he should have been at work but took the night off.  Since then I don't feel comfortable leaving LO down there where I can't get to him if someone breaks in..and I don't want to sleep down there because I wouldnt hear if someone was trying to get in.

So we moved his crib into our room  which has  a window on the balcony and the front door is next to my bedroom... at least this way I can hear someone come up the stairs and onto our balcony and gives me a chance to grab the little man and call the cops.

But he sleeps in bed with me ... hubby works nights and then on hubbys days off we all sleep together.. but he does nap in his crib, on his play mat or wherever... he is really easy going.. right now he is fast asleep on my living room floor on a quilt on the area rug.

  • DS sleeps next to my side in a bassinet at night and during the day in his bouncy seat, swing or PNP.  He is on oxyge and an apnea moitor so he will probaly be with us for a while.
  • He is in his crib now.  We transitioned him to his crib at three months.  Until then he slept in a pack and play in our room.  If he naps it was usually in his swing or on the couch but now I am trying to put him in his crib for naps too when I am home.

The Rock N Play.  She was in our room until 6.5 weeks or so, and then we moved her into her own room.  We just moved the RNP...  not ready to give that up yet.  :)
  • Mine sleeps in the PNP in our room at night, probably will stay there until at least 6 months (AAP recommendation, plus his room is downstairs and ours is up).

Naps are mostly in the swing or bouncer, rarely in his crib.

  • She's in a pack-n-play next to our bed.  She'll be in there for the first 6-8 months at least and longer if she decides to keep waking up during the night to eat.  It's just so much easier to bring her in the bed to nurse and wakes me up less to do it that way than to go to her own room,

  • She sleeps in the Rock N Play next to me at night. She mostly naps in the swing but recently have begun trying to nap her in her crib to make the transition easier which we plan to do around six months.
  • Her crib in her own room. Moved her at a month. There's no way I could have gone longer than that. She talks in her sleep. It was waking me up when there was no need for me to be awake yet.

The PNP is still at the foot my bed for if she has a rough night, place to her when I'm foldling laundry. etc.

She naps in her swing. She takes very short naps so by the time I get her asleep and get her to her crib, she's awake again. Just not worth it. Will try changing her napping habits in another couple weeks.

Same here, though I moved him at 2 or 3 weeks. Haven't transitioned to the crib yet. Hope to start soon with naps (I end up chickening out though...not sure why).

  • She sleeps in our bed with us, right under my armpit. Sometimes she starts out in her RnP, but starts wrestling around a couple hours later, so rather than her screaming for a bottle, I put her in bed with us and she falls sound asleep for the rest of the night. When she naps during the day, it's usually while I have her in the wrap. If I lay her down for a nap she sleeps only for about 20 minutes. If I wear her, she will sleep for a couple hours. She's much better rested since I've been doing this.

In his crib in his own room. His room is right next to ours. He's been sleeping there since he was a month old. He was really congested back then and would grunt and snort a lot. I wasn't getting much sleep at all between feedings as I am a very light sleeper. I didn't really want to move him yet, but my husband made me realize that I needed to get some sleep at night.

  • At night: RnP in her room. Trying to get her in the crib slowly. She is such an awesome sleeper I hate to mess with that!

Naps: Tummy in her crib. I may get an Angel Care and let her sleep on her tummy at night too.
