It has been a crazy 2 wks! I had a scheduled C-Section on 5/15. We went in at 6AM and got prepped. One piece of advice I had going in was to demand a cathetor after getting the spinal block. I asked for that and they respected my wishes. I walked into the OR and sat on the table and started shaking uncontrollably. They brought me warm blankets which really helped. The spinal kicked in immediately. It felt like tugging and pulling but nothing hurt. Then I felt like someone filled my lungs with air. I had not been able to breathe like this in months. A few seconds later Audrey entered the world screaming her lungs out. They nicked her little bum when they made the incision, but a little bandaid and she was fine. She is absolutely perfect. She was breach and her poor little head had a big indent from being under my ribs. But it is growing out nicely. I had a lot of bleeding so they gave me a shot in my leg to start clotting. TMI warning...the nurses pushed on my stomach as hard as they could to push as much of the blood out as possible. The Dr had to come in and remove blood clots that were so big that they were measuring and weighing them. I was sort of in a fog and my BP dropped pretty low. The nurses kept coming over and pushing as hard as they could until the spinal wore off. After that they had me get a dose of Morphine before they did it each time... that was the WORST part of everything. This continued every 4 hours and then they tapered down as the flow got less and less for the rest of my stay--4 days. Audrey is doing well we tried 2 formulas and one she had horrible gas and very loose stools. Once we switched her over to the next she was a completely different baby. Now she only cries when hungry and wet/dirty. It has been an exhausting, trying, wonderful, emotional experience. DH has been awesome. He snuggles with her every chance he can get and he is NOT like that. I love seeing them together.

2 wks post op and I am feeling much better. Still sleeping on the couch just b/c our bed is very high off of the ground--double pillow top and it would be too hard to get in and out of right now.
