Has anyone given LO Benadryl? Box says not to but pedi said I could.

    Many times for allergies. Some babies sleep and some get really hyper.

    We haven't yet (thankfully) but our Pedi also said to buy a box and keep it on hand in case we run into something that J is allergic to.

    Just out of curiosity, how did you know LO had allergies.? I swear at times my DS seems like he has them but I never know for sure.

    I have used it but I would ask your pedi first and get the right dose before giving it. My DD doesn't sleep good and I was thinking she would sleep with the Benadryl but she still doesn't sleep. We gave it when she was real stuffed up.

    Yes, we gave it to him when he had hives, doc thought it could have been an allergic reaction.

    Landon got a rash when we went to Florida, I'm assuming it was a heat rash. We gave him benedryl and it made him really sleepy, I didn't like it. It helped with the rash though.

    Well for food allergies he gets a rash, turns bright red, throws up, and wheezes. For outdoor allergies he starts wheezing and his eyes turn red and swell shut. His allergies are pretty severe so it's noticeable. He takes zyrtec every mooring and evening and we keep benadryl with us at all times for emergencies.
