primrose oil and red rasberry leaf tea?

Has anyone done thoes before? and did it help since i know they don't actually bring on labor unless your body is ready but did it help with the birthing and help soften things up?

Re: primrose oil and red rasberry leaf tea?

  • They both helped me the first time.  EPO got me to 3cm and my mw specifically brought me cups of RRLT during my induction. She said it helps keep contractions going once they start and it is good to drink it for overall uterine health.

I used both, was induced, and had a very long labor.

  • RRL helps tone the uterus. It is appropriate for use any time during the PG, with higher usage late in the PG. It doesn't stimulate labor in the way some people think. It's benefit is in long-term preparation, not anything fast. I did not use RRL in my last PG. This PG I have been drinking lots of RRL tea since 1st tri (which my MW asks all clients to do).

As for EPO, I did use this vaginally at 40w with my son and labor started the next day. I had a multi-day very hard labor, though. Baby was OP, and there just isn't a whole lot of "softening" that. I'd use it again very late in PG. I don't see any drawbacks.
