Re: HSG

  • Mine was a non-event, but I didn't have any blockage. From what I've read, it seems like if you have a blockage it can be a little more uncomfortable. I was just glad that it was a procedure that used a "hole my body already had." ;) It was interesting to see the screen - almost like a video xray because I could see the dye spreading. Bring a pad though, cause there is leakage afterwards. I hope it isn't too bad for you!! Good luck!

Mine sucked. Bad. I had valium, but would have gladly taken anesthesia. I had one tube that they couldn't get dye it, but they said it was due to a spasm rather than a blockage. Hope yours is uneventful.

  • I had one done about a month ago and it really wasn't that bad. The only discomfort I had was with the dye, but even that was very mild discomfort. It was quick process and I was able to see the screen. Take a pad or panty liner, though. May have some leakage afterwards. Sending good luck vibes to you!
  • Mine was icky. I have 2 blocked tubes so maybe that's why? I am also a huge baby. Good luck!

  • its not bad, its uncomfortable...its quick too...some people say its the worst pain ever but I didnt think it was that bad..
  • I didn't have any blocked tubes but it was a pretty rough experience for me.  I had a seizure during the procedure due to the pain and possible stress leading up to the procedure.  I do have a history of epilepsy btw.  From talking to other people/reading online, my experience seems to be quite a rarity so I bet your experience will be uncomfortable but tolerable.  GL!
