I'm considering 2u2. We would like for our children to be close in age. However, I needed to have an emergency c-section with my LO and it is very likely I may need one again. Has anyone on here had 2 c-sections close together? Were there complications? Is it a terrible idea? Is it better to wait longer?

When I got pregnant with DS2, DS1 was about 3 months old. I asked the OB about the risks of them being so close and she said only if I had had a csection with DS1. They Like to see people wait at least a year after a csection. I would ask your OB.
My doctor gave me the green light to ttc whenever I felt ready at my 6 week PP checkup. He did say there was an increased risk of uterine rupture with closely spaced c-sections, but since that is a rare complication that occurs in less than 1% of deliveries that was not a factor in my decision at all.
My c-sections were 12.5 months apart and had no issues/complications.

I had an emergency c-section with DD in August of 2010. I was pregnant again by August 2011. DD and DS are just about 22 months apart in age so just under 2 years apart. I did not have any complications at all with this pregnancy. In fact my recovery has been 100% better than my first c-section which was horrifying for me.
DH was with me for the first 6 days and then went back to work. I did not have any help after that and things have been OK for the most part except I did end up over doing it one day (by simply putting some laundry in) and ended up in the ER in the most pain that I have been in, in my entire life. Worse than the c-section pain itself. I was told it was probably fluid build up or that I moved wrong that caused the pain.
My first two are 362 days apart in age.
My second gap will be approximately 13.5 months apart.
I had c-sections with my first two (and will with #3).
My one OB said I was eligible for a VBAC but my water broke and it was the other OB and he told me I could go home or have a section.
I've had no complications and my recoveries have been easier than many have described.
ETA: my actual OB told me that while my risk of rupture would be higher it was a low risk (less than 1%). I was approved to TTC at 6 weeks with both children. We just waited a little longer after DS.

My LO's are 23 months 1 day apart. I had a horrible 36 hr labor experience with my DD that ended up in c-section and it went beautifully and recovery was ok. When we found out I was prego with DS I was seriously considering VBAC but then started having really scary thyroid issues and heart stuff so we decided with the help of my drs that a csection would be easiest on my body. I had a scheduled c-section almost a month ago and it was sooo much easier than my first. I am an ANXIOUS person, hate needles and I went in like a champ
It's just a different mind set going in knowing that you will have a baby in your arms in a matter of minutes. It's less stress in my opinion. My recovery has been interesting and a little different this time around but not worse per say. I'm still bleeding off and on which is much longer than the first time around, it was only 2 weeks if I remember. And I have no pain near the incision but above it a little soreness still, but I have been lifting my 27 pound DD for about two weeks now too. It's hard to take it easy once my DH went back to work. But we are planning on a third and it will be a csection again.
