How Popular is Tatum?

So ever since I was in middle school and I went to sleep away camp with a girl named Tatum, I have loved the name. I've always said if I ever had a daughter I would name her Tatum.

H is totally onboard with the name, but I'm seeing it suggested/mentioned a lot on the boards. It seems to be gaining popularity, I would prefer not to pick a super popular name, is this name going to be in the top 20 or even 100 in your opinion in the next couple years?

Tatum is NMS but I personally don't think it will be getting all that popular.

A friend of mine just named her little one Tatum and that is the only time I have even heard it thrown around in baby name conversations. I think you are probably fine, I do not see it jumping to high, especially not into the top 20.

I've heard it enough times to say it's fairly popular for girls, but I personally only know two Tatums, and they're both male--one is a friend's grandfather, and my cousin recently had a little boy named Tatum.

Don't know one single person named Tatum IRL. I think its a cute name and if you both love it - then go for it.

I have never met a Tatum, but it does make me think of Tatum O'Neil.

I know 3 Tatum's (one spelled Taitum). They are all junior high or high school aged. I didn't see many subbing this year in elementary. I think you're pretty safe.

Its not popular in my area at all. I wouldn't worry too much about the popularity of it.

It is not popular and is not really gaining in popularity. It did have a big jump in popularity in the late 1990s, but it has been holding steady in the 300s for the past decade (#345 nationally in 2011).

It's not in the top 100 in any state, though it is close in a few (AZ #110, SD #123, OK #131). In some states (CA, NY), it's not even in the top 1,000.
