Working Out

So I know not everyone is at the point where they have the go ahead yet, but I am at 5 weeks pp and am ready to get back in there.  I lost almost all the baby weight from this pregnancy. But I have a bunch left to lose from my first pregnancy :( Lame, I know!

What is everyone's plans?  I am trying to find a good workout but not having a ton of luck so would love some suggestions.

  • I'm 5 weeks out and got back on the elliptical this week... Just a 15 min light workout. The doctors were prett adamant about me taking it easy so I wouldn't risk opening my c/s incision.  I'm hoping to get back into dance classes soon but I think it might too high impact.  Other than that I'm just walking.  I'm 10lbs from my pp weight, but hoping to lose 15-20.

  • When I am cleared... I plan on doing the Gillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I did it last summer before I was pregnant and had really good results from it. If that doesn't help, then I will up the anty and do P90X lean. To me videos at home seem like the best bet.

    I will also be training for a half marathon this fall and after that I will continue to train for a full. I was a marathoner pre-preggo. Thank goodness my mom has agreed to watch LO while I train.

  • If any of you are bfing make sure you don't do too much to fast or it can kill your supply.  I hate working out so I'm just going to chase my boys and redo all my gardens that should work.

  • I am 2 weeks pp and started back today 20 min on the elliptical. I couldn't believe how week my core felt even though I worked out my entire pregnancy. I had a very easy delivery so I have felt ready to workout this past week but I'm taking it super easy at first. I have only lost 15 of the 30 I gained. Hoping another 5 or 10 falls off from bfing in the next few weeks.

  • For the couple of women who talked about the 30 day shred and have tried it, what was your success like?  I was just looking at it today and curious if it was worth a try.
