My husband and I are stuck on where to put the new baby and I'm hoping to get some outsider opinions.
Option #1: Keep E in her room and put baby in the guest room; keep the guest bed in the guest room and move baby to our room when we have guests(Pros: Bed for whomever is up with baby to crash in/Cons: Further from our room; would have to deconstruct, then reconstruct, crib in order to move it)
Option #2: Move E to guest room and put baby in E's current room; move guest bed to bonus room (Pros: Would not have to do much to baby's room; could make E's room a playroom, also/Cons: Bonus room temp. is not easily controlled; would have to decorate/paint 2 rooms vs. just one)
What do you all think? Has anyone had success of having a nursery/guest room combo? I'm leaning more toward putting E in the guest room (it's bigger, she'll be going to a twin bed, the baby would be closer to us), but then I think it might be nice to have the bed in with the baby for those late night BFing sessions. I don't know! Help!!
Re: Where to put the new baby?
I wish I could help you more but im having the same delimma when its our turn to welcome #2.
I LOVE having our guest room, but I also want to make Drew a Big Boy room soon. Its time. But ill lose the guest bed and i know we'll have visitors when the new baby comes. So where will they go?!
Hopefully youll come up with something soon, but I understand your pain. GL!
We had a similar situation because of weird laid out rooms here...we left DS#1 in his room (I wanted to change as little as possible for him) and put DS#2 in the guest room/combo room. When we have guests we move him in with DS#1 (when he was still itty bitty he was in our room when we had guests) but now the boys like to share a room some, so that's where we put him when people are in town. Granted, that's not a lot, so it works for us and like a PP mentioned, we just set up the pack and play in DS#1's room and leave the crib where it is...works fine for us.
GL!
