Jaye - for a girl.
If the baby is a boy his name will be Jay after my FIL who passed away this year. I'm not just doing this for my H. I loved my FIL very much and would like to honor him even if the baby is a girl, but we are having a lot of trouble coming up with girl J names that we agree on. I like Jenna and Joy. DH doesn't like either. DH likes Julia. I like it, but I don't love it because I think it might be a little too common these days. We can't use any Jo..... names because that is what my name starts with (Susie is my alterego for the nest!) and most friends and family call me Jo.
I've known one woman with the name Jaye, but I can't find it on any name websites. I'm pretty sure it is made up but kind of like it anyway. Will everyone always think my girl is a boy (if it even is a girl...) ? Does it go with Sam?
Ugh. This is hard. I loved the girl name we would have used for Sam, but now that my FIL is gone we really want to do something to honor him so the name we had just doesn't fit.
Opinions and ideas welcome.
Re: xp: what do you think of the name...
I know a Jayda. I always thought that was a pretty name.
I agree Jayda is a very pretty name.
I'm not super into it.
I like Jade or Jane though...but do what you want!
My mom has a student named Jayla in her class this year, which I think is beautiful! Just a suggestion.
It was hard to figure out a girl named that me and my DH liked, but we both liked Jada. I like any version that has a base of Jada sound. Plus, everyone will pick up the tribute to your FIL.
