2nd time Mom panic over delivery
Hi ladies! I am sorry I don't post on here more often I lurk and really enjoy reading your posts and find them very informational so I feel most of my questions are answered through your questions and comments. One reoccurring nightmare or fear I am continuing to have is the actual pain that comes with the labor! I know this sounds soo dumb but my labor with my son from beginning till end was approx 28 hours. I was induced to progress dilation about 11-12 hours in but then I progressed quickly and they did not check my cervix very often and before I knew it we were at 6 cm before they came in and said I could get the epidural. This relieved the contraction pains which was great but when it came time to push the sr had them stop the epi so I would know when to push? Although I told him my body was naturally giving me that no choice urge. Anyways long story short I am already anticipating just as long and painful of a delivery as mh last son and I was not sure If this is something others are kind of fearing. Is the 2nd child as bad or long of a delivery for the most part or are they usually quicker? My dr is not letting me go any further than June 13th due to extremely high BP and pre eclampsia with this one also. Any stories or reassurance would be greatly appreciated! :-)

I am with you. With DD went to 41 weeks 2 days. Started with a folly bulb induction due to no progress that was at 3pm did not have her until 7:59 the next night. They cut off my epi towards the end so I could feel to push and I felt everything. This time they think DS has a big head and don?t know if I will be able to get him out but my OB said don?t worry I will let you push for hours unless he is stuck or in distress before I recommend C Section
. BTW this time no progress again I am dreading another induction. My cousion just had a baby, she was induced last time also, this time her water broke and labor was around 8 hours she said it was a 100 times better here is to hoping that happens for us.
Don't worry, all labors and deliveries are so individual and different! My labor with DS was about 30 hours and I was really nervous about having another long labor with DD. Also, having already done it once made me nervous to go through it again. My 2nd labor was very different than my first; it was 8 hours beginning to end, contractions came strong and fast right from the get go, and she was out in 2 pushes. I will say, however, that it felt more painful, but I think that was the difference between a sort of slow and steady labor with #1, and a faster labor with #2. But you know what? Everything was fine and I survived it twice now!
Relax. Trust your body. You can do it again!!
