{I fail at doing a poll, sorry lol} Just curious for those of you have have already been through IVF, when did you do your injects?
I've heard some people do them in the afternoons and some people do them in the evenings. Is it a personal preference or is it based on your protocol?
Pros/Cons for afternoon vs evening?
I won't start stims til the 3rd week in June but I'm just thinking ahead...getting nervous. IDK if I'll be able to do the injects without DH home, who knows. I'm probably stronger than I give myself credit for ::shrugs::
TIA for the insight ladies!!!

My protocol had me doing injects both AM and PM. I did 20iu's Lupron plus 225 Gonal F in the AM, then another 20iu's Lupron and 225 Menopur in the PM. So 4 shots a day. I think it depends on your protocol and what your RE recommends.
If given a choice I'd probably do PM. If you have to go to work in the morning, that's one more thing you have to do before you leave (give yourself shots) so I'd rather do them in the PM when you have more time.
And don't sell yourself short, you will be surprised at what you can do. I did the shots myself and they really weren't so bad.

I was told to do them between 5-9pm and keep the same time every day. This was for Follistim and Menopur. I was told to take Ganirelix each morning (starting day 6 of stims) between 6-8am and keep the same time. For this next round, I'll be taking Lupron in the morning, same time frame of 6-8am, and Follistim/Menopur at night.
This first injection was the hardest because of all the anticipation of starting a cycle and the anxiety of the shot. But after that it was easy. They didn't hurt, but I decided on day 2 to ice the area first. I got my injections ready, iced for 5 minutes, and then did the injections. The icing gave me time to sit back and relax, rather than feel like I was rushing it. It was really more a mental thing than for pain, although I think it is also the reason why I didn't experience the Menopur burn that others have had.

I've only had to do once a day, my instructions are for nighttime shots. I work in the afternoon and don't get home to late night so I aim for midnight. Also helps for my traveling - I frequently move between east and west coast so I had to pick a time that would work in both time zones.
I'm a self injector. MH has a serious needle phobia so absolutely no help. The first time or two is the worst but it gets better. You are really stronger than you know - you can do this!! And ice is your friend
Good luck!
