2nd Trimester

Just Sharing...and asking for advice

I rarely post on here, although I'm sure that because of my new status, I will definately be on more often. I was just released from the hospital Wednesday night after spending over a week there. I went in because I was having extreme abdominal pain, and I found out that that abdominal pain was actually contractions - I was going into pre-term labor. VERY scary. To make a very long and miserable story short, they finally got the contractions under control and released me just in time to put me on bedrest indefinately the day before Thanksgiving. I am only almost 19 weeks, so being put on bedrest this early is absolutely ridiculous. I just wondered if there are any others that have been put on bedrest this early, and if you have any spectacular ideas for keeping busy for such a long time ??

Btw, I found out in my experience at the hospital, (since they had to do an ultrasound every single day that I am having a BOY! So there was some good news that came out of the hospital trip. Add me to team blue! :)

  • super exciting knowing your babies sex!  i'm sorry about the bed rest htough, i can imagine its been a bit of a bummer.  you could start on your christmas cards now and pre address thank yous for christmas presents... could do the same for other holidays coming up, birthdays, etc... you could also write an advice book for your baby to give when he becomes an adult... i'm not much help, sorrry!  buy netflix!
  • I spent 3 months in bed after my spinal fusion. Netflix is awesome and you can watch movies or tv series for free (with membership) on your laptop. I read a ton and napped.
  • I had a co-worker who was placed on bedrest at 8 weeks.  I'm not sure exactly what her issues were.  Good luck.

  • Thanks for the advice girls! The christmas card idea is great, I hadn't even thought of it, but I'm definately going to give that a shot. And NETFLIX! Why didn't I think of that?! Thanks again!
  • Awesome about having a boy!!!

Sucky that you are on bedrest, I'd go stir crazy.   Hopefully you can read some good books :o)
