I am hosting a play date at our house next week for our Meet Up group. I thought we might have 6 or 7 moms with kids but right now we have 11 moms and 14 kids (ranging from a couple newborns to the oldest being 17 months, most are 9-12 months)! With that many people I feel like I need to have things more organized rather than the casual get together. We have a sand/water table that I will fill with water if it's sunny, balls if it's not. If it's nice we will also have the pool out. We have a small slide, play tunnel and bubbles.
I would love if you would share any activity ideas for our bakyard play date!
Re: Backyard play date ideas?
I run a meet up group in So Cal and every friday we have a park meetup with about 30 moms. I tell everyone to bring a blanket to sit on and we lay out a bunch of toys and all the babies crawl around and play with stuff. It's always very informal and I think that works best. Too much structure is hard with large groups, the babies will kind of do their own thing. Sounds like you have lots of stuff to do - I'd just let people mingle and talk!
Where's your meetup? Are you So Cal?
Not sure if you plan on having a pool or anything like that... but Sophie just got a splash-pad for her birthday, and it'd be SUPER cute for playdates!
Its only maybe 3inches deep, but has little spouts that, well spout up all over! You can control how they get with the hose presume, and it only took 2-3mins to fill up & drain. Super easy and great for sitters- younger kids running around
::Obviously I didn't read your whole post, sorry::

I host a weekly meet up at the library that's very informal but we're moving it to our house for the summer since the library gets so busy and for some reason with it being at my house I feel like I need to offer more
. We're in Ventura County.
I think our pool/activity center is very similar to yours. Can't wait to try it out!
I think your activities sound great and there is plenty to do. For C's bday party, we had 15 kids. We had a ball pit, kiddy pool, water table, and bubbles. That was more than enough to keep them all entertained.
I agree with PP- have moms bring either a blanket or lawn chair so everyone can circle the activities and be near their baby.
Have fun!
