I had my D&C today after amost 4 weeks of trying to wait it out and 2 failed rounds of Cytotec last weekend. The procedure itself wasn't too bad and I only cried twice before I went in. Once when my husband took my hand and just looked so sad and the other when a random nurse made a stupid comment. I had just had my IV put in, which didn't bother me at all, but she walks by and says 'hey the worst part is over, don't look so upset.' Oh I'm sorry I thought the worst part was going to be when I have to have my baby sucked out of me, not having a stupid IV put in my hand. UGH.
Everyone else was wonderful and all of the nurses that were assigned to me had also had miscarriages so they were super understanding and nice. After all of the waiting I put myself through and the freaking out about the Cytotec, I wish I would've just done the D&C sooner. Is it bad that I almost feel a sense of relief that it's just over and can start to finally heal and move forward??
Thanks for listening.

Re: D&C today
That nurse that said that to you is an Ahole. Seriously, doing what they do, they should know that doing what they do, if they don't know what to say, it's best not to say anything.
It's not bad at all that you feel a sense of relief. That's pretty normal. Best of luck to you heal physically and emotionally.

Wow!!!
Reminds me of what the dr I saw yesterday after my natural mc.... He said not to get pg too soon bc it increases the chance of another mc and that would be "annoying"!!!!!!!
He was actually a really really nice guy and explained everything to me was my first pg and mc) and was understanding, etc. (he's not my regular dr) But really? I think comments like that maybe are made to downplay the situation for our benefit. But we know better of course. Anyway, so sorry for your loss and your experience today.
I'm so sorry for your loss. No one can tell you what the "worst part" is... the whole thing really is the worst part since you're living in a nightmare.
Good luck with your recovery. I hope all goes well.
I'm so sorry for your loss;( I felt a sense of relief as well.
Take care, big hugs to you xx
