What goes good w/ pulled pork?

We decided to do pulled pork sandwiches for DS's birthday party instead of grilling since its a little less work and preparation.  What sides would you make?

  • i think of bbq sides - baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, etc.

We're doing pulled pork sliders though, and our sides are prob going to be pasta salad, fruit,  pirate's booty, and maybe some kind of veggie salad.

  • MY mom always makes a potato dish with bacon, mayo, cheddar cheese and potatoes. It goes really well with pulled pork and is always the first thing to go.

We are also doing bbq and my sides are pasta salad, potato salad, and watermelon feta salad from Paula Deen.
  • I just made pulled pork the other night and we had sweet potato fries with it...so yummy. Although that would be had for a large group of people. If I were doing it for a party, I would probably make sides similiar to what I would make for a cookout....pasta salad, (sweet?) potato salad, garden salad....and so on.

  • Coleslaw!  We buy 1 green cabbage, 1 purple, shred some carrots and the cabbage and top with Kraft Coleslaw dressing.  Yummy and super simple.  It tastes better after it sits overnight.

  • I had a party for DH 2 weeks ago and served pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. It was awesome and easy!! We also had mac & cheese, cole slaw, veggies & dip, chips & dip. It was a small party, but for a bigger party, you could add more sides like corn, baked beans, etc.

  • I personally don't like any traditional BBQ sides (coleslaw, baked beans, potato/pasta salad, etc.)  We're grilling still (one of our friends insisted he grill at the party - LOVES it!) and we're having Green Salad, Veggies, Fruit and Mac & Cheese as sides.
