I am pregnant with my first baby, and we are having a girl! My husband and I are so excited and are very anxiously awaiting her arrival. I'm 36 weeks (27 days to go!). That should be exciting and it def is, but also 27 days sounds like an eternity. At 33 weeks I was put on bed rest, since then I have been taken off complete bedrest, but still supposed to be resting with my feet up for a majority of the day. So all I do is sit here and wait. I don't have tons of family to come over and hang out with me, and it seems like all my friends are just so busy! I look soooooo forward to the time when my husband gets off work!
I went to the doctor yesterday for my 36 week check up, and nothing. No dilating, no effacement, nothing. I know it's still early, but I was just hoping for something.
I need some encouragement! I know and people keep saying, things will happen when they should, but its hard to wait when you have nothing to do!
Re: Does it ever end?!
Don't get discouraged! At 36 weeks, you still have a month to make progress. I've been using evening primrose oil since about 36 weeks, and I highly recommend using it. I took one orally twice a day until 37 weeks, and then added one at night as a suppository. Starting a week ago, I'm taking two orally twice a day, and two as a suppository before bed.
I agree with PP. You still have plenty of time to progress. I am due on saturday and my cervix is thinning, but baby is still high and no dilation yet!! Even then, Dr said I should be prepared to go anytime.
Also, I am a big fan of primrose oil! I didn't start until 37/38 weeks because baby was breech so I had a c-section planned anyway, then he flipped so plans changed. But, after starting it Dr. has commented on progress of cervix thinnning every appointment
Ugh...I have 12 days left and it feels like its just draaaaaggggging on by. I'm gonna tear into my pineapple tonight in hopes that it might get things moving. I have a doc appointment tomorrow and she's gonna check me for the first time. I HOPE I've made a little progress cuz I been getting cramps a few times a day for the last couple weeks.
Hang in there, you got a little ways to go...the last few weeks take forever.
