C-sections

Numbness question

I had a CS five days ago and my scar area is pretty much completely numb.  I wonder how normal it is, and if I can ever expect to get feeling back there.... It's just really strange to be so numb.  Thanks, ladies.

From what I understand/have been told, numbness is normal. My ob says there is a chance that some spots can remain numb. For me, the top left of my incision is Complelty numb. I swat sometines it feels like I have a scratch there that cannot be scratched!!!

  • I still have a little numbness, but it's nothing like it was the first 3 months or so.  My OB said that some women get full feeling back, some never do.  She said she had a c/s 10+ yrs ago and still has a 1 inch spot that is numb even though the rest is back to normal.

  • I am right there with you, did you deliver on the 25th too? My scar is completely numb still. My mom had 4 c-sections and said that hers still has some numbness, and that it is completely normal.

  • My daughter is almost 8 months and I am still numb. Ever now and again feeling comes back and for a day or two it feels tingly and then it goes away. It is normal.

Very normal. I don't remember exactly went, but it well over a year later before I can honestly say I don't remember any numbness.

  • I've had 3 c-sections and will have my 4th in the fall. My entire lower abdominal area is numb. It has never gone back to "normal". I don't think it ever will.

This!  I scratch where it feels itchy and then there is no feeling there.  It's the weirdest sensation!!

  • Thanks.... Sounds like this isnt a rare problem.  Does it get less "weird" with time?  I kind of freak myself out every time I brush against my numb belly....

Haha I think it does eventually! Though still have some numbness in my hip from an accident 2 yrs ago.  I sometimes forget until I scratch that spot!

It's normal. And it may not ever go away.

I still have numb spots and my daughter is 14 months old. It's not as numb as it was, but it's still weird. I don't expect it to ever feel normal again.
