DS is 4 months old today, and he's being a lot harder to entertain. Usually a couple rounds of "You Are My Sunshine" gets him from screaming to cooing, but lately I have to really pull out all the stops. Sometimes I end up turning him towards the TV so I can get 10 minutes of quiet (I know, bad mommy!). I know there's a 4 month wakeful period, but he's sleeping like he always does. DH swears up and down he's teething, but a cold teether on the gums only distracts him for a little while. We have some toys for him, I read to him at least once a day, and he enjoys a round of patty cake, but I'm running out of ideas. I don't like resorting to letting him watch TV, but I don't want to let him cry out of sheer boredom.
What are some things y'all do to entertain your LOs?

We do time in the jumperoo, read books, sing along to my baby station on pandora, play on the mat, have tummy time, and play with Sophie and the Lamaze baby toys (we have captain calamari and Jacques the peacock-I die over the names).
I also try to get out of the house once a day-we either go to play group, go to the grocery store and cook dinner, or just take a walk and go get yogurt or Starbucks. I live in Houston and it's already 90+ degrees during the day, so we either take a walk first thing after her AM bottle or go somewhere indoors to walk, like the mall.
It's not the most exciting day for me but I find it helps me to have some sort of schedule and to do list to accomplish. I've started doing certain chores on different days (eg laundry on Monday, etc.) and she does those with me. I also try to switch up activities every 15 minutes or so so she doesn't get too bored...
And finally...TV isn't so terrible
by the end of our days I'm pretty beat so we usually wind up vegging out on the couch in front of one of my DVRed shows. It's okay in moderation!! So don't feel like bad mommy.
And sorry this was so long! LOL it's obviously something I myself am struggling with and figuring out. GL!
I just posted something very similar on another board!
We get outside a lot, like pp said. They also enjoy sitting in their bumbo chairs while I'm doing chores and talking to them about what I'm doing. I also dangle their favorite toys above their heads and move it around and they follow it with their eyes, then if I put it closer to them they'll try to grab it and put it in their mouths. They actually really like having their picture taken too. I think it's because I talk to them and smile at them so much to try to hold their attention. My girls are 5months so I don't know if your guy is ready yet but they like to practice standing and sitting up with my help too.
