I'm just wondering...are they harmful? I feel like I was on it a long time tonight and am worried about overexposure. That and I was pressing hard to find the beat but at the same time I'm a cushy girl!
If you mean the ultra sound, no. They are totally fine. Sound waves is all.
And if they are pushing too hard, it prolly IS because you are curvy. I was the same in my first and starting to be that way with this one too. They just gotta get as close to your girl parts as possiable.

There is something called a "doppler," a device used on the outside of the tummy like a mechanical stethoscope that amplifies the baby's heartbeat so that you can hear it! Ultrasounds don't allow you to hear heartbeats, but dopplers do.
Pushing hard is common, especially when the baby is so small and back behind stuff, but I don't believe your Dr. or MW would put you or the baby in danger by pushing TOO hard.

Re: One last doppler question - are they harmful??
Not harmful unless you plan to whack your SO over the head with it...
Its basically a sensitive microphone, so no worries...
