Pregnant after a Loss

Boo-I have to start progestrone supplements

After my 7 week ultrasound yesterday my progesterone was down to 13, which they like to see it above 15-so its progestrone supplements for me.  My RE told me not to worry-but of course I am-has anyone else had falling progestrone?

My nurse gave me the choice of prometrium or crinone-thoughts?  She has samples of the crinone, so I'm going to start with that.

It fluctuates throughout the day. I wouldn't worry. At least one of my levels was lower than the previous with Clara. It was never monitored with the losses. The progesterone is annoying, but can't hurt.

  • I only had my progesterone tested once and it was 11.7 (at 6w) so I took prometrium (the oral version taken vaginally) once daily at bedtime and everything has been fine since.

  • My progesterone was a 9 and I have been on it ever since. I take prometrium orally at night. My last draw it was a 35 so it's been successful thus far. Yes it's one more pill to take but I am happy it helps.

  • No advice about falling number since we did IVF and I was on it from the day of ER but I have used both and don't have a preference. I am on 200 mg of crinone a day and this runs me about $45 a week, prometrium was a lot less expensive and endometrium was WAY more expensive. If you have a choice you may want to price them out. My RE wanted me on the crinone but never gave me a good reason why and I had too much going on to care all that much.

  • I was on the waxy bullet shaped suppositories and then switched to crinone.  I like the crinone MUCH better!
