How are you counting LO's age???

I know this may sound like a stupid question but please bare with me.....

I had my little girl March 2, when we were in the hospital they told me that I would keep track of LO age by counting by weeks (born March 2nd, will be 1 week March 9, 2 weeks March 16, 3 weeks March 23rd etc) So that's what I have been doing and so far I'm up to 12weeks and 6days old which is 3months.

But her doctor is saying she is 2 months because the are counting by months (Born March 2nd will be 1 month April 2nd, 2 months May 2nd etc).....

So here is my question which way is the correct way to count LO's age....I know I'm making this harder then it is...Sorry ladies Embarrassed

After DS hit 3 months I stopped counting by weeks and started counting by months. So on the 13th of every month he's another month older. I'd say your doc is right, 4 weeks doesn't = 1 month.

I would round up or down or say "and a half". My LO was three months last week so I say three months. Next week I would say three and a half months.

Like PP I stopped with weeks at 3 months because it was hard to remember

Now we do months and I will say the 1/2 if needed. He is currently 3 1/2 months.

I say month unless it's a Friday then I say, "15 weeks today". It just depends on who I'm talking to or my mood. Today I told someone she will turn 4 months on the 10th because when I said three months they looked shocked..

Thanks ladies I think what I'm doing is just counting every 4 weeks as 1 month which I know is not always the case....Grrrrr why did the nurse at the hospital say anything, I would have just kept it at months from the beginning now I feel like I'm making her younger, since I thought she was 3 months for a week now....
