Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Please help the very tired mommy...

Our little buddy has wet through his jammies, his sleep sack, sheet and mattress pad each night this week.  I have tried three different brands of diapers (Pampers, Huggies and Target).  By 4 am, he has wet through the diaper.  Is it possible that it's the diaper, or could he have a bladder infection?  For those who think it's the diaper, suggestions for another type would be much appreciated :)

This.  Also, with my DD we had to use Huggies Overnights for night time sleeping because she would sleep so long.  You could also try those.

  • Make sure his pee pee is pointed downward when you put the diaper on too..

  • Huggies overnights! Also LUVS work too!! They seem to work really well for us and they are cheap! Even better!

  • Larger diaper, pee pee facing down, and fold upper part of the diaper inward to catch any rouge pee.

  • This may not be realistic, but I haven't had any MOTN (or daytime, for that matter) leaks since I switched to cloth. If you continue to have trouble with disposables lasting all night, it might be worth buying a few and using them only for night time. For what it's worth, I use a Flip cover with one of their stay dry inserts, and it goes a full 12 hours. GL!

  • The few times we've had to use disposables we've had to put the Pampers overnight diapers on DD as she pees out of the regular diapers if she's left in them all night.  We never have any leaks with our cloth diapers.

  • It all sounds wonderfully simple and easy.  Thanks ladies.  We will try these suggestions.  Looking forward to a dry(er) night :)
  • My DD was doing this every night too and we realized her diaper was actually too big, not too little! She was in size 3 but we moved back down to size 2 and it fits her way better, no more leaks. Just something else to consider!

  • Pretty much the same as everyone else, but a little reassurance never hurts! Play with different sizes and if nothing works try cloth.  Our cloth diapers leak waaay less than disposables.

  • You can also try a cloth cover over a disposable diaper if you don't want to actually go cloth. That'll keep the leaks in better.

  • We had this problem with Huggies and Pampers. We tried Luvs and they have not wet through since!!

  • I would try the next size up.  Then if that doesn't work I've heard of people who put one on LO then the next size bigger than that over top that.  So double up the diapers.  I've never had to, so hope it works!
