How often do you wash crib sheets?

My daughter is a drool machine and now that she's rolling and scooting all over her crib during the night, her sheets probably need to be washed more often.  How often do you wash yours?  Do you wash the mattress cover every time too?

Re: How often do you wash crib sheets?

  • Once a week along with our sheets. Every morning I will rub my hand over the crib sheet though to see if it has any crusties on it, if it does then I wash it that day. I only wash the mattress cover if it seems like there is anything excessive.

Once a week unless he pees or throws up on them. I have a "Sheet Saver" which has saved me a mid-week wash a few times. But I definitely have also had to change those dang things in the middle of the night before. What a task!

A suggestion - put two sets of sheets on the mattress - that way if one gets dirtied up, remove it and you have a fresh one underneath.  May make things easier in the middle of the night...

  • Eli doesnt sleep in his crib yet,but i change his bassinett sheet atleast 3 times a week sometimes more b/c now that he is teething they are full of drool.

  • I wash the sheet every week or so.  So far, sleeping is about the only time DD isn't a drool machine, so it doesn't get bad.  I haven't washed the mattress pad in forever though.  Probably should.  Between the sheet and mattress pad I put two waterproof pads side by side.  In theory, they are there to catch any leaks.
