Question - Exposure to Paint Fumes

I have a question... I work in a large office building and they are remodeling the suite next to mine. Problem is, they are also having to do work in the Hallway which is right next to me. They are painting and putting on wallpaper and the fumes have made their way into my office. Is it safe to breathe this all day long? I do not have the option to open a window. I am so mad that they do this during working hours! I would think they would schedule this for the weekend. Ugh - I already hate the smell of paint, but now I'm worried about baby. Any thoughts?

Re: Question - Exposure to Paint Fumes

  • I have been told paint is ok in a well vented area, and not oil based. maybe get a fan or something to blow around you in you are in your office or I would talk to my OB just in case.

  • I have always been told that paint is ok IF you are in a well ventilated space.  Sounds like you are NOT in a well ventilated space if you can't open a window.  If possible, I'd ask to work form home for the rest of the day.  Better safe than sorry.  That's just me though.
