For those who use Medela bottles-Fast flow nipples?

Hello-

I EBF my son, but when he does get a bottle when I am working we use Medela bottles, so far they have been working great but we are thinking he needs a fast flow nipple now.  I have not found that they make a fast flow nipple for the medela bottles.  Anyone know of any brand that fits the medela bottles?  I was looking at the store the other day and the other brands that I thought would fit any standard sized bottle said ONLY for use with that brand bottle.  If you have found one to work, which one?

    hmmm, I don't have an answer for you, but I also use the Medela bottles. DD is EBF (I pump while at work) and she's doing great on the slow nipples still. My thought process is if she is still nursing, then the slow nipples are most like my nipples when she nurses? I think they have to work a little harder for the milk.

    What makes you think your son needs the fast one? I'm wondering if this is something I should also think about.

    I haven't experienced it first hand because when I am with him I BF, my husband said that when he tried to give him the bottle when he was on slow flow he would get so frustrated trying to suck and would suck so hard he would collapse the nipple, we moved up to medium flow and he was happy again.  Just last week he said that DS was sucking so hard he was collapsing the nipple again and also so hard that my husband didn't even have to hold the bottle ( he still did of course, but the suction was so that he wouldn't have had to).  I had a couple Nuk bottles at home that I was gifted at my shower, so I bought the fast flow nipples for them and we haven't tried them yet, I took one to daycare today so we will see how that goes.  My milk flows pretty fast, he only has to nurse about 10 minutes tops so I think he is used to that, he used to choke on it when he was newborn.

    dr brown fits medela bottles. They come in sizes 1-4 and Y-cut. I will be upgrading to size 4 at 9 months, which are fast flow.
