If you can say there is any benefit for being out of work right now

It's that I get a little more time with LO than I did before.  We hung out and played until 10 this morning until my inlaws came to watch her while I go to Starbucks and work on my resume.  With my old job, I left at 7:30.  I was sad when I went back to work, not hysterical, but sad that we would not have as much time together.  If I have to be jobless at all, I'm glad it's now then.  Maybe I'll get to see some milestones instead of just hearing about them.

I'm still trying to pick myself up and jump on the job hunt and it's so easy to wallow, but then I look at her and know that I need to do it for her.  It's not about feeling bad for myself anymore.

    All the best in your job hunt.  I was unemployed for awhile it was tough, but I'm sure having your baby girl as motivation is the best!

    Trying to find a job sucks.  Trying to find a job while getting to be home with your little one in the meantime?  Awesome.  I was laid off in December.  At first I was a little stressed out.  Now that DH and I have figured out our money situation, I am less stressed and loving my time home with DS.  I know I'll find a new job some day....there really just isn't a lot out there right now and since I don't have to settle monetarily, I'm going to stick it out until I find something I really want.  Getting laid off ended up being a huge positive for me.  I love all this time with Ben.

    my work is super slow right now, it's unnerving to say the least. but you're right - the extra time with LO is a gift. it's amazing the stuff I cease to miss (ie: shopping, dinners out, nights out) when your purse strings tighten... as long as i've got DD to love up.
