Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Do you think of 10m old as toddler?

Do you think of your 10-11 month olds as Toddlers?  I still think of mine as a "baby" because she just started crawling a week ago.  Do you think of them as toddlers when they start walking or by the age?

  • No I consider them to be infants until they're 1. Maybe I would say toddler if she was walking before 1, that's the whole point right? Toddling toddlers? lol

  • I was thinking after she is a year old I would consider her a toddler when talking to someone.  But I feel like she is at an in-between stage.  She is cruising and taking steps and she's always been so alert--she seems to have such an individual personality and sense of humor all ready.  She just doesn't seem like a baby at all sometimes :)

  • Nope, once she turns one I'll think of her as a toddler.

  • No, I don't think of DD as a toddler. But then again, she doesn't really move, so I don't have to worry about that!

  • i still wont think of him as a toddler after 1

  • Mine started walking at 11 months, but I didn't really consider her a toddler until she was full out running at 12 months.

Yes. DS started walking at 9.5 months. He's climbing up and off of furniture, my queen bed, opening doors, chasing after daddy.... Yes. He's a toddler
  • Yes but I think because our DD has been walking since about 9.5 months. She crawled early as well and once she was on her feet there was no stopping her. To me she even looks different. The only time she really still looks like a baby is when she is sleeping. I think every kiddo is a bit different as is the time when they can be classified as a "toddler".

  • I call her my todfant. When she walks she'll be a toddler in my mind
  • I think of DS as an almost toddler. He is wearing toddler size clothes but just started crawling about 10 days ago. His 1 year old birthday will be the official toddler mark for us but maybe sooner if he walks before then. But he will also always be my precious baby boy!

  • DD is 11.5 months and walking but I don't consider her a toddler. I want her to be my baby as long as possible! I will probably start saying toddler at 1 year but who knows, maybe I'll push it until 13 months :-)

  • I do think of my 10 month old as a toddler, but only because he walks :)
