No more bottles...sippys only ?

As of right now LO still gets a bottle in the morning at wake up and at bedtime. I am working on getting rid of the bottle altogether. Her schedule right now is 7am wake up 6oz bottle, sippy with lunch, sippy with snack, 6oz bottle at bed. I do offer in a sippy first at dinner and what she doesn' t finish I give to her at bed. So my question is do you offer a sippy cup  of formula/milk at wake up? Feed LO breakfast as soon as they wake up, or just wait until their normal breakfast time?

Re: No more bottles...sippys only ?

  • We still do 3 bottles a day. Morning, night and once midday.  I haven't put milk/formula in a sippy cup at all, she just drinks water out of a sippy or straw cup or a waterbottle.  I'm not sure when to start doing that.

  • We started formula in sippy cups at 11 months. She took to it just fine and gets them as soon as she wakes up - solids about an hour later. We do sippy cups with just water at meal time and the water stays out throughout the day if she's thirsty.

  • If he wakes up at 6am-7am, I nurse him and put him back to sleep.  If he wakes up after that I get him up and have breakfast, and offer a sippy of almond milk.  DS isn't one yet, but when he is we will be switching to all sippys and he will eat right when he wakes up.
