Ok, I feel really really stupid asking this, but I swear it's not MUD.
Am I having contractions?
I've read multiple descriptions online of what contractions are like, and what I'm feeling doesn't really fit any of those descriptions.
Since last night I've had constant lower back pain/pressure that doesn't let up - there's no break, or waves, or anything like that. Then added to that, this morning I started having sporadic cramps, that feel like menstrual cramps. And added to that, I'm getting these periods where my entire stomach tightens, almost like I put on a pair of spanx that are 2 sizes too small. Those come in waves, but it feels just like the baby is stretching inside with all its strength. And it doesn't help that baby has never been particularly active, but when s/he does move, s/he moves by stretching and pushing its butt out as hard as possible. So I can't tell if its the uterus or the fetus that's moving.
I know they say that you can tell its a contraction cuz your uterus gets hard, but my entire stomach has been hard for weeks now - there's just no more room in there.
I'd love to believe these are real, and I should start timing them, but I'm afraid it's just wishful thinking.
Re: World's dumbest question: contraction or baby movement?
Not a stupid question - Ive wondered the same thing many times in the last week or so when I started (maybe) feeling contractions. Mine have never been painful at all. It sounds to me like you are having contractions though. Good luck!
