Solids and daycare

When will you have daycare start solids?  With DS I was a SAHM for the first year and a half so didn't have to do this.  I was just curious if you would have them start once you have them on something for a few days to rule out any allergies?  How often will you have them start the new foods?  Thanks!

    Our daycare requests that we establish anything new at home for four days before bringing it to daycare.

    That's a good idea.  We start with the first solid "meal" at dinner time so we're with them when they have new things.  It's fun to see them try new stuff, too :)

    I will start out at dinner time and just do that for a few weeks or longer, who knows.  When he's ready for a second meal I will start sending it to daycare.  I know it's extra work for her so I'm not going to rush it.

    The daycare we checked out starts them on solids at 1 year. There is a whole menu for breakfast, lunch and two snacks. I didn;t think they would start so early, but then again I am a FTM so I dunno what I am doing when it comes to feeding Matthew anything else but formula.
