I recently bumped DD up to 4 oz every 3-4 hours (FF) At first it was taking her 20 min to eat and now it's around 10. She's starting to show signs that she wants more but I feel like 5 oz at 2 weeks is a little much? I know every baby is different but as a FTM I need a baseline I guess.
Re: How much is your 2 week old eating?
BFP#3: 9/4/11, EDD 5/13/12, DD Born 5/14/12
BFP#2: 5/8/11, EDD 1/24/12 missed mc
BFP#1: 1/24/10, EDD 9/24/10, DD Born 9/25/10
She was eating 2-2.5oz 7 times a day at two weeks. She is now 5 weeks and eats 3.5oz 6 times a day.
ETA: this is BM, I ve heard FF babies will eat more.

Unless recommended by a doctor it is highly unrecommended for a newborn to eat any cereal at this age, it can cause all sorts of problems. Also by artificially making their stomachs feel full all night can rob them of nutrients they need over the night.
Op remember that it takes time for your lo's brain to register that their stomach is full, so feeding more at a time isn't necessarily as good for a newborn as eating more often. It has been found that ff babies can tend to end up being overweight children because they are so used to feeling over full that that's what their brains register as normal.
I was formula fed and have never been overweight. People are overweight because they eat sugar and crap not becasue they were formula fed as infants. Where is your research to support this?
