Oh DH....!

So we were at our OB appt today, I'm due on Saturday so we're only a few days away. Anyway I'm 2cm (have been for 2 weeks) and "well on my way to fully effaced" so the conversation goes something like this:

DH "That's awesome, so we're nearly there?"

OB "You're well on your way, we won't talk about induction until you're at least 41 weeks but I think it'll come before then"

DH "So when can we expect the baby?"

OB "Any time between now and when we schedule your induction....."

I just cracked up laughing but I thought the OB had a pretty quick response, poor hubby is so excited he can barely contain himself. Every time I groan or wince he thinks I'm in labor.

  • LOL!Tell him (dh) not to worry that you're in labor until you start screaming profanity at him.

    Too funny!! Husbands are hilarious!

I developed pretty bad back pain almost 2 weeks ago. I knew it wasn't labour, but boy was it intense and absolutely terrible. After about a week, I couldn't handle it. It was driving me crazy and I began hoping I had a kidney infection. Around 12:30am last Saturday, after sobbing in bed, DH insisted he take me somewhere, an urgent care centre, the hospital, anywhere. We went to the nearest hospital with a L&D unit, but not the one we actually plan on delivering at. As the triage nurse was showing me where L&D was (to rule that out before anything else), DH whispered to me, "I put my running shoes on in case I have to run - I'm ready for him." He was so earnest and said it with such fervour I  couldn't help but laugh. I told him I knew it wasn't labour, but I was glad he was ready. The funniest part is that these are not just running shoes - these are ultra light weight, serious, for-performance, running shoes, that cost a small fortune, and he doesn't wear them at all, except for running. I can't imagine what he'll be like when it's really time!!!
