I'm wondering about the part just above the incision where there's a bit of a ridge, I guess where they pulled the skin back together. Will this ever even out???
Gosh I hope so! I look like a tire roll =P FWIW, I hear it does flatten out but takes awhile... and, exercise/toning is of course helpful though I've been told it might never go back to "normal."

Lol, I laugh because I remember with DD I was like "what the heck is that?!" yes, with weight loss and toning, everything turned back to normal...now I am hoping to do it all over again.
~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation.
Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation). ~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone). ~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain). ~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40! Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).
It flattened out for me and after two kiddos (though the second was not a c/s) my tummy managed to get back to remotely normal. It did take me a little longer to get the tummy in check the second time.
Everyone's body reacts differently and no not everyone will get their flat tummy back again, even with working out/dieting/toning. It may happen for you but it may not. It has been 5 years since my c-section and I worked really hard on my stomach and it never went back. I always had that little shelf right there. Everyone's circumstances and bodies are different. I know after this cs and getting my tubes tied, if I want my stomach flat I will need to (and will) have a tuck.
My scar is flat and has been since the beginning (I mean, my whole belly stuck out, but I didn't have a ridge above the incision). My problem now is the loose skin higher on my belly that sags.

After a year and a 60 pound weight loss, yes. I still have 20 pounds to go but my tummy is flat and back to normal, even over the "ridge," where a year ago I had to lift it to see the scar.

Mine did. I just have a little indent, I guess, where the scar is. Otherwise, everything else is back to normal.
