CPW - Weight Loss

And because I'm still struggling to get down to pre-pregnancy weight, how much weight have you lost since giving birth? Feel free to chime in with how much you've got left to go, what you're doing to get it off, etc.[Poll]

Re: CPW - Weight Loss

  • I lost weight during pregnancy (I had it to lose so it was ok) and left the hospital below my PPW.  However, since then I have put on about 5 pounds because I stopped BFing and didn't stop eating the extra calories!  I have about 40 to lose to be "healthy" but I'm pretty ok with where I am now...

  • About 25 down and 10 to go. I'm in a wedding in exactly one month and still don't quite fit in my bridesmaid dress.  However, what does not fit is the top around my boobs.  Not sure if that's going to change anytime soon, so I'm a little worried.

At my PP appointment I had lost 40. I only gained 25 during my pregnancy so I was 15 pounds lighter. I know I've lost a little more since then, but I don't own a scale. I had a huge decrease in appetite when LO was born, so I attribute it to that and EBF. I need to start working out again. We have a gym membership and it's collecting dust.

Chubby over here gained 53 LBS and I have 12 more to go to get to PP weight and they are not going anywhere anytime soon...blah! I just stare at my summer clothes I pray I can wear them by July at least. My B-day is next week and it was my goal to lose it all by then but clearly not happening, my H asked what I wanted for my B-day and I was going to ask for new clothes but I said a treadmill so I can fit back into my perfectly fine clothes. Big Smile I'm really not all that upset though 41 lbs is better than 0.

I gained 35 pounds and lost it all but my pre-pregnancy clothes still don't fit! My stomach is really flabby and my hips got a lot wider. UGH!

  • Last time I checked it was 35 lbs, which is 25 less than pre-pregnancy (GD = little pregnancy gain).  I want to check again, but I know I've had a rough couple weeks and I just don't want to see it go up!!!  I've still been pumping, so I'm hoping that helped keep things under control.  ***fingers-crossed***

  • I gained 45 lbs during pregnancy (25 real pounds and then an additional 20 from my pregnancy-induced congestive heart failure). I've now lost about 50 lbs. Now, I'm focusing on losing the 30 lbs of PCOS weight I gained over the year trying to get pregnant.

    There a 2 reasons I'm losing weight:

    1. With post-partum cardio myopathy, I have to stick to 2,000 mg of sodium a day ? so I'm eater healthier and not carrying around water weight.

    2. At least for now, the pregnancy hormones made my PCOS go away ? so I'm having regular cycles and actually losing weight.

  • I gained 42 and have lost 35..which isn't too shabby.  I just feel like it isn't the weight so much as it is the INCHES and the FLAB that won't go away! Things just aren't where they used to be!! And now that I am back at work, it is nearly impossible to find any time to sneak in exercise. I am just trying to eat super healthy/clean and chug water. I am hoping to eventually get into a better exercise routine.

  • I sucked it up and bought a tank top bathing suit this week that goes with a bottom I already have.  I'm just too flabby after two kids.  One was fine...the second stretched me out more, I guess.

  • I gained 50, and I'm down 35 as of this morning. I really felt like I haven't lost much weight in the last two months, but keeping track and looking at a graph I realize I've been making slow, steady progress.

  • I gained 35 and as of yesterday I have lost it all. I attribute it to EBF and healthy-ish eating. Not being able to consume dairy (aka cheese) really limits my crap food intake.  I should add that I still have a jiggly tummy though, so it's not like my pre-preg body. My hips/butt are smaller but my tummy and boobs are bigger. So weird. I have another 15 to go to get to my happy weight, but I'm not dieting until I'm done BF so we'll see if it comes off on its own.

This!! Down 25, 10 to go, except the wedding I'm in is in 2 1/2 weeks! Yikes!

This is me! I have lost 22 and have 20-25 more to go!

I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and take LO for a walk with me for 2-3 miles everyday...the weight just wont come off and I dont have the time/energy to give my workouts anymore (I am not working out that hard).

I gave in a bought jeans this weekend, 3 sizes bigger than my PP jeans. :(

  • Going into Labour I was 70lbs up. I am now only about 27 lbs up. This is good for me. I do want to get to PP weight but I am ok as long as I try to eat healthy
  • Gained 26, lost 23 but my body is NOT the same. My hips are still huge.
  • I gained 27 during pregnancy.  I am not 5 lbs under pre pregnant weight.  However since we were trying for almost a year I had kind of gotten lazy with working out.  I also think my hips are WAY wider now.  I would like to be down about 20 more lbs before my brothers wedding in October.  I am trying to watch what I eat and be as active as possible. I still believe that wearing a 15lb baby in a carrier counts as exercise!  Once my husband is on summer vacation I want to get better about going to the gym every day.

  • I gained 50 during pregnancy, and so far have lost 35 with 15 left to go. I'd like to lose more after that, since I was already a size 14-16 when I conceived. The first 25 lbs came off pretty much by themselves within the first month and a half. Then I noticed it stopped, so I started on a low carb diet. It's been slow going, but it is coming off, just not as quickly as it did when I was on the same diet before we started TTC. I start back to work in a month, so I'm just going to suck it up and buy new suits. I always feel better in clothes that actually fit!

I should also add that I'm EFF at this point, so no one has to worry that DS isn't getting all the nutrients he needs because of my low carb diet.

  • I put on about 50 lbs during pregnancy. However, in the last 2 weeks I put on 15 lbs and the OB said it was water weight and not to worry about that gain. (You could literally see a hand print in my leg if someone touched it.) I peaked around 194lbs and I'm down to 153 now. I have about 10 more to go until I'd down to my pre preg weight. I would ideally like to get down to 140. Although most of my pre-preg clothes are starting to fit. Some are a little tighter then others. I do need to invest in some shirts BADLY!

  • I gained 40+ pounds during my pregnancy, but I believe alot of it was water. I lost all but 7 pounds in the first month, which is completely gone now.  However, like many PPers my shape is different.  My boobs and ribs are bigger, (40F yikes)by 2 inches and 2 sizes,  Also my belly is definitly jello.  I bought new jeans a size bigger but I can't button them either.  Any bigger and they were hanging off my butt and thighs.  I haven't donbe anything really to get it off except BF.  Any ideas how to get rid of the belly?

    this exactly!  so frustrating.

  • I gained 70 pounds and am down 50 at this point. I lost 40 like it was nothing and then completely stalled for almost 3 months. Now that I'm back at work I'm eating healthier and going to the gym with my husband every day. Since I started that about 2 weeks ago I've lost 10 pounds. I've got 20 to go to get to my pp weight and 30 to get to where I'm really happy. I've have two photo shoots, my 10 year high school reunion and 2 beach trips all in August...so that's my deadline!
