Need suggestions (NBR)

Our five year anniversary is coming up in August. We would like to take a short, inexpensive trip for a few nights. We live in upstate ny. We've been to niagara falls and NYC a zillion times, so those are out of the question. I'd love the beach.  We are willing to drive or maybe fly, depending cost of flights. We're thinking less than $1000. Any suggestions?

    It's not a beach but what about Boston or Hershey, PA?  I would love to stay at a B&B along the Maine coast too!

    Rehoboth Beach, DE is nice.

    Also, being in upstate NY you could always rent a house in Lake Placid or the finger lakes - Keuka lake is nice...

    We live about 40 minutes from the Finger Lakes, so we've been to them a bunch of times. I do love them.

    I love the idea of Maine or Montreal - never been.  Now to find some accommodations.

    What about Watch Hill, RI?  Small beach town, close to Mystic, CT and casinos (Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun)

    I second Hershey Park - they have a water park within the theme park too which is fun. I'm pretty sure they even have a wave pool area to lay out and relax. It's been a few years since we were there - but it's nice. Also there's a zoo and if you go to chocolate world, you can ride the free ride that shows how chocolate is made and you get free candy at the end! Love free candy!
