2nd Trimester

I don't get it re: weight gain or should I say "redistribution"!!

I've gained between 8-10 pounds depending on the day and I'm almost 22 weeks.  I started out thin and what my doc says a perfect weight and size for my frame. The past week I've noticed that my face looks much bigger...puffy like and I am def wider.  My belly is getting big though nowhere close to it being bothersome with toenail painting or bikini shaving...Last time I had gained over 25 pounds at this point and was "cute" but not small! This time I haven't gained a ton of weight but I look roly poly if you ask me!!

I was shopping with a friend who's normally just a hair smaller than me and in the mirror together  I easily looked twice as wide as her and just plain old puffy! I seriously think I looked like two of her.  WTF?? Anyone else gaining or redistributing weird?  I am curious as to what the next 18 weeks will bring. LOL!

  • I hear you re redistribution.

I haven't gained a single pound, but my stomach is waaaay out there. People are asking if I'm having twins. But my pants are falling off! I joke that my thigh fat somehow moved up to  my stomach. I look the same everywhere else though. I look like a kid with a basketball in her shirt.

  • I've lost 14 pounds so far but I was obese to begin with (not that I wanted to be losing weight while pregnant, however...) and I am amazed at how different my stomach looks! I still just look fat without the right clothes, but when I look at myself without clothes on there is such a difference in how my stomach is. Parts are hard that have NEVER been hard before. My stomach is definitely growing, but I keep losing weight... it's a very weird feeling.

  • Yeah I look puffy all over. With my DD1 I was definetely all belly. So far my weight gain is identical to that pregnancy so IDK. I don't like it though, that's for damn.

  • You could be losing muscle and gaining fat thus staying the same weight. This happens to me if I stop exercising for a long period of time. It takes a lot for me to gain weight (although this pregnancy has me up 22lbs already) but I definitely had my heavy weeks when none of my clothes would fit (pre pregnancy) and then my slim weeks when I was working out and my clothes would fit a lot better. My weight would pretty much stay consistent though.
