40 weeks and still here.... stripped membranes?

Ok, so today is D-day and I'm still here.  At my exam today, doc said I'm nearly 100% effaced and about 2cm dilated.  He stripped my membranes, which was not painful, but rather uncomfortable. He told me to expect some bleeding, which I've got, but not too bad, along with some mild contractions. 

Anyone have any experience with this procedure? How long will it take before I know if it's working!! Is labor imminent? 

Also- has anyone heard of or used Blue Cohosh Extract (an herb tincture) as a natural labor induction?  
Thoughts?!

I'm just so tired of being pregnant. I'm swollen, it's a million degrees... NO A/C... and I just need to be done!

    I had my membranes stripped last week. Had some bleeding and contractions, but no labor. Had it done again today - hoping it works. My doctor said it usually works within 24 hours if it's going to.

    I had my membranes stripped on Friday, and I'm still here.  But I was only dilated a fingertip and not as effaced as you. 

    Also, I read on another website to avoid Blue Cohosh and other herbs - not only is there no proof this works, supplements aren't as well regulated by the FDA and can include ingredients you don't want.

    Had mine stripped last Wednesday and my edd was Monday... still preggo.

    I had my membranes stripped at 38 week 5d and it did nothing, then I had them stripped again at 39 week 5 ds had more bleeding and lots of mild contractions but they only lasted a couple hours.. and then I went into labor the next morning :) Good luck!

    I am officially 1 day past my D Day and having mine stripped tomorrow. It worked for my best friend within 10 hours. Hoping it works for me too. Good luck!!

    Had mine stripped at 40w3d and cramping started almost immediately.  I was pretty sure labour was starting within an hour and Mia was delivered almost exactly 12 hours from the time my membranes were stripped.
