3rd Trimester

Crazy razor burn anyone?

The pg I have been "trying" to shave my bikini area and upper legs and its been somewhat successful.  I am not shaving my bikini line as often (probably 1X a week) but the last 2-3 times I have been getting SEVERE razor burn.  My bikini line is so sore and breaking out its disgusting and painful.  Anyone else have this happen?  Its even starting to run down my inner leg.  I am hoping its just from the pregnancy, but Im nervous its going to keep happening after baby is here.

I know skin can get crazy during pregnancy, but does anyone else have this? Ive tried a new razor, powder, etc.

I also have PUPPS on my stomach, maybe its that spreading to my legs, but it hurts it doesnt itch (on my legs).

I can't even think about doing that anymore. I use one of those bikini trimmer things to try and keep it tamed, but shaving is pretty much out for now. Maybe try doing that. Plus with the trimmers you don't really have to see what you're doing, you can just kinda go by feel.

This.  Plus, you don't want to keep shaving over already irritated skin.  You could wind up with an abscess that needs to be drained or gets infected.  Skip the shaving and go with a trimmer.  If you just HAVE to shave, I would only do it 1x a week and only if the skin wasn't already irritated.

As pp mentioned, Coochy shave cream works really well. I'm wondering if you are not shaving often enough & that's why you are getting the razor burn?

  • For me I think it has to do with all the skin touching areas its not used to IE my giant belly rubbing up on my thighs thus increasing sweat.

  • I use hibicleanse when I get razor burn. Its a medical wash that is designed to eliminate bacteria. Exfoliate and then use it.
